Welcome to the recently upgraded dieInter.net site!
If you’ve been a regular visitor of this website, you will notice that it has undergone a complete redesign, and we have a lot of new features for your enjoyment. - Call it dieInter.net v2 if you want.

I would like to highlight some of the fresh new features and usability improvements:

• Speed - First and foremost, the site should now be significantly faster to load and open pages than the old version. This was priority #1 during development of this version. Feedback/Confirmation of this is welcome.
• Enhanced Profiles - After logging in, you will now be redirected to your profile page. This is to encourage members to update their information. – It is a social networking site after all.
• Smart Avatars - User profile pictures (avatars) will be automagically resized to different sizes in various parts of the site. (e.g. the small picture at the top of this post, compared to the bigger version of the pictures on the profile page) -> for those of you with the older style 85x85 sized pictures, I encourage you to upload a newer/bigger version.
• Autoupdating (AJAX) Blocks - The Who’s online block refreshes by itself every 2 minutes without reloading the entire page. Useful if you want to keep an eye on the site to see who's online at that particular moment. (still a bit buggy, but I'm working on it)
• Shoutbox (or lack thereof..) - The Shoutbox has been removed from the site until I can get hold of an upgraded module that will work on this new site. (with all the features like time-stamping and so forth)
• My Inter.net - Once logged in, you will see a block on the left containing your Stuff. This section has a link to your own customized “dieInter.net” where you can put only the content you want to see. This is your page! If you want to see news there, put it there, if you want to see new blog entries of other users, put it there. Do what you want, capeesh? (This section will receive a lot of attention to improve it in near future – Drag and Drop functionality coming soon.) Have a look at My Inter.net for an example.
• User Points - Users will receive "points" from now on when posting content onto the site. The points can be used at a later stage for determining the most active users should there become a need for moderators and so forth. (...and to encourage people (read: you) to be a more active on the site - Air your views!
• Credits - Special thanks to Jaco Mans for the design of the new Logo!

As always, dieInter.net is a work in progress, and things can only get better and nicer from here!
Please let me know if any particular section of the site is not working as expected, if the layout is corrupted, (if the site is skewed, try pressing CTRL-F5 for a full refresh) or if you have any other suggestions on making this an even lekkerder place to be.
